Hey there Reader! So I think I'm pretty good at a few things: π writing copy π capturing a client's voice π singing and busting a move π whipping up a decent meal in 15 minutes But there's one thing I'm extra good at... π Procrastinating doing my finances - and in particular my taxes (which are due at the end of April in Canada , and today in the US). π Sometimes looking at and managing your finances can be stressful. And when it comes close to tax time, I find very novel ways of distracting myself and procrastinating the important financial tasks. I bake more. Clean more. Find other things "more important" to do than my damn taxes. So in an effort to not distract myself with more content creation and marketing, I'm throwing back to this EXCELLENT podcast episode. It's about why - even though I HATE gathering all my tax info and paperwork - I'm NOT WORRIED about a massive tax bill. Because I know I have more than enough money set aside to cover my taxes. Many years ago, I installed Profit First into my business, with the help of Money Coach, April Stroink. The thing I love about April is she has zero judgment about the financial skeletons you may be hiding in your closet. π± She has seen everything, and she herself has experienced everything in her former retail business. And I'm talking about the good, the bad, and the ugly. In this episode of ill communication, April shares stress-free financial management tips from the Profit First system. We chat about how this system works and how you can implement it into your business so you can increase your profit and stay on top of your business finances. And make tax time less stressful, even if you're a major procrastinator like me. This is actually a fun, short episode and you should totally check it out. βListen to ep 92 on any player or right here. Kim |

I've reached a new low, Reader. The other day I was reviewing a client's rough first draft of a lead magnet e-book, and left this comment in her Google doc: I know it's not the most professional editorial comment, but it was in response to an insipid phrase Claude had generated for my client. It's the kind of phrase I'm seeing over and over again in emails, posts, and marketing material generated with AI. And let me say right off the bat... I LOVE that AI tools are available to help busy,...
Hey Reader Entrepreneurship is a MF roller coaster. I started last week with a verbal confirmation on a contract that would have had me fully booked out until Q4. By the end of the week, that client backed out. You'd think I'd know by now to not count my chickens until they signed the contract. π And on Friday, I learned another client is downsizing her team, installing AI agents, and I'm likely the next on the chopping block. I went from feeling like hot shit, to feeling pretty shitty. I...
Hi Reader A few months back, I was hired by an Indigenous consulting firm to help with their messaging and positioning. They're incredibly effective in their work to help mid-sized corporations integrate and embed meaningful Reconciliation action plans, and create a more equitable workplace for all. I know they're effective because I interviewed several of their clients who couldn't say enough great things. They needed a little help because they felt their messaging wasn't effectively...
