it's a roller coaster🎢

Hey Reader

Entrepreneurship is a MF roller coaster.

I started last week with a verbal confirmation on a contract that would have had me fully booked out until Q4.

By the end of the week, that client backed out. You'd think I'd know by now to not count my chickens until they signed the contract. 🙄

And on Friday, I learned another client is downsizing her team, installing AI agents, and I'm likely the next on the chopping block.

I went from feeling like hot shit, to feeling pretty shitty.

I know this is the ride I signed up for.

And the pros of owning my own business still outweigh the cons of doing something else.

I love the flexibility my business gives me to take kids to ortho, a parent to a health scan, or just cry in the corner because my grade 9-er has his last exam and last day of junior high today. 😭

It's just that entrepreneurship requires SO MUCH mental strength and mindset work.

And I continue to work on mine.

When I get less-than-desirable news, I feel the feelings, go on a walk or a Netflix binge, and then try to focus on what's working.

Today, several members in the Pivot to Premium community shared some awesome wins:

  • A stylist sent an email we worked on together last week that landed 3 bookings
  • A fitness coach sent an email that landed a new premium member to her program
  • A functional health coach went through my niching training in the Vault and said for the first time niching made sense - and the copy she shared for her homepage today is far more potent than it was previously

The emails I'm ghostwriting for my YouTube clients are being sent with minimal edits (and getting lots of clicks).

And my own readers tell me this newsletter is one of the few you actually look forward to and read faithfully.

I have to continually remind myself that I'm actually pretty good at what I do - especially when business kicks me in my ladyballs.

So tell me... how do you deal with the ups and downs of entrepreneurship?

What strategies help you keep your head in the game?

Kim

P.S. One of the things I always do whenever I feel like I'm on the struggle bus is get in motion and in front of people.

So I'm looking forward to speaking on a panel tomorrow at this free virtual summit called "The Credibility Summit: Building Authentic Brands in the Age of AI"

I'll be joining a panel for a conversation called: People Can Tell: A Discussion on the Impacts of Improper AI Usage.

The big irony is that my one client is "downsizing" her team to install AI agents instead.

You should participate in the conversation with me! Check out the whole schedule and secure your seat: http://www.christinahunte.com/real

I've reached a new low, Reader. The other day I was reviewing a client's rough first draft of a lead magnet e-book, and left this comment in her Google doc: I know it's not the most professional editorial comment, but it was in response to an insipid phrase Claude had generated for my client. It's the kind of phrase I'm seeing over and over again in emails, posts, and marketing material generated with AI. And let me say right off the bat... I LOVE that AI tools are available to help busy,...

Hi Reader A few months back, I was hired by an Indigenous consulting firm to help with their messaging and positioning. They're incredibly effective in their work to help mid-sized corporations integrate and embed meaningful Reconciliation action plans, and create a more equitable workplace for all. I know they're effective because I interviewed several of their clients who couldn't say enough great things. They needed a little help because they felt their messaging wasn't effectively...

Apparently I've been living under a MASSIVE rock. Because I completely missed one of the BIGGEST LAUNCHES OF OUR TIME until it was actually over - and then saw everyone yapping about how impressive this launch was. So, if you're like me and a little out of the loop, let me catch you up. An online creator named Jessi Jean recently stopped her 7+ year overeating/nutrition coaching business to pivot to something that felt lighter and more fun. She an AMAZING following in the range of 130k...
