Hey Reader! I opened my inbox yesterday morning and was horrified by what I saw. Some absolute douchecanoe, who's been hounding me for weeks with his offer to help me keep my emails out of the spam folder and promotions tab, used the Epstein files as a subject line hook. Now, as an email marketer, I have a LOT of tolerance for different formulas and hooks that others dislike (like using Re: in the subject line, for example). However, this crossed a line for me. My response was swift: John also got blocked, marked and spam, and removed from my email list. The thing is, I've seen others post about this subject line being used. When I saw this subject line in my own inbox, I couldn't just delete. Especially after the recent breaking news about the vile website with 62Million views. It's far too heinous. Seeing that completely careless and flagrant referral to a child SA ring really riled me up for a masterclass I hosted yesterday. It reminded me why the work I do is so important. My mission is to amplify women's voices and help more women generate revenue and AGENCY - so we can offset and eliminate the absolute douchbaggery around us. ~~~~~ Speaking of yesterday's masterclass... ... I'm in the middle of an experiment. I've been running ads to cold audiences to promote my live masterclass. My aim is to reach more people, grow my email list, and generate some sales. So far, I've been pretty pleased. I had 162 signups for yesterday's masterclass! Leads are coming in around $7 per lead. My opt-in page is converting pretty good and I had decent show up rates for yesterday's masterclass (considering it's all cold audiences). What I'm most delighted with is the responses people are sharing to my 1-question survey on the sign-up form. It's showing me that I'm attracting folks who are absolutely aligned and the message is a match! Now we'll see if I generate any sales. But truthfully, I'm playing the long game. I know in this market folks need more time to get to know me and build trust. So I'm thinking sales will come several months from now. I'm running this experiment for a few more rounds to see what happens. Would you be interested in a debrief afterwards? LMK! What's shaking in your world, these days? Any emails or social posts piss you off? Running any experiments or new strategies in your biz? Would love to know! Keep fighting the good fight, Kim |

I've reached a new low, Reader. The other day I was reviewing a client's rough first draft of a lead magnet e-book, and left this comment in her Google doc: I know it's not the most professional editorial comment, but it was in response to an insipid phrase Claude had generated for my client. It's the kind of phrase I'm seeing over and over again in emails, posts, and marketing material generated with AI. And let me say right off the bat... I LOVE that AI tools are available to help busy,...
Hey Reader Entrepreneurship is a MF roller coaster. I started last week with a verbal confirmation on a contract that would have had me fully booked out until Q4. By the end of the week, that client backed out. You'd think I'd know by now to not count my chickens until they signed the contract. 🙄 And on Friday, I learned another client is downsizing her team, installing AI agents, and I'm likely the next on the chopping block. I went from feeling like hot shit, to feeling pretty shitty. I...
Hi Reader A few months back, I was hired by an Indigenous consulting firm to help with their messaging and positioning. They're incredibly effective in their work to help mid-sized corporations integrate and embed meaningful Reconciliation action plans, and create a more equitable workplace for all. I know they're effective because I interviewed several of their clients who couldn't say enough great things. They needed a little help because they felt their messaging wasn't effectively...
